Fresh Meet Spring Bash Camden, NJ
Fresh Meet Events organizes 3 shows during the season inviting all makes and models. The Spring Bash kicks it off in Camden, NJ followed by OC Bash in Ocean City, MD then the Summer Bash in Union, NJ. These events draw many cars and there’s a large variety present. Luckily for us, the Volkswagen guys show up, so of course we’re drawn in that direction. But nevertheless, we love the quality of all the cars that show up and this year showed much more of that.
On Facebook, an event page was created for Spring Bash and it showed that almost 3,000 people were coming so we knew this was going to be bigger and better than last year! We had such a great time last year that we decided to make the trip again. Leaving early Sunday morning, we headed up to Reading, PA to meet up with a group of cars headed to Camden, and by 9am we were on our way. Let’s just say 422 in PA does not have the best “lowered-friendly” roads to be driving on, and I found myself paying more attention to the obstacles on the road than keeping up with the other cars with us. Driving through Philly and making our way over the Ben Franklin Bridge, we hit MAJOR traffic all for Spring Bash. The traffic was not fun and it took two hours to make our way to the baseball stadium. We decided to wait it out after driving the whole way there and we had a great time nonetheless!
To give a little background if you have not attended Spring Bash, the show sits on the grounds of Campbell’s Field, home of the Camden Riversharks. The show sits a short distance away from the Delaware River and the Philly skyline. This is a great place to hold a show. Like we said, this show brings in all makes from Japanese to Domestic to Euro. On our way into the show, I found an old Mazda Rx-2 kept in great condition. A short ways past that was a Mk1 baby blue Rabbit. It was nice to see an older selection of cars showing up. In the VIP area, I found a matte white NSX siting on some cherry red wheels which was a show stopper. I always love a show with a few NSXs and Supras around.
Scion Racing was on hand giving attendees some freebies and also allowing them some time on the gaming consoles they had set up. Sitting close by was a couple FRS’s, one having a detailed airbrushed graphic wrapped around the car. Tjin Edition Roadshow brought a few Mustang GT’s and their Ford Focus ST Gulf Edition, along with many products on display.
All day long, there was a continuous flow of cars and people coming into the show. This turned out to be a great show even after the major traffic problems. We were able to snap a few photos which you can find HERE. I wish I had had more time to get video. We will be in Ocean City, MD for the OC Bash this June and I think you all should come check it out! It’s bound to be a great weekend.
